macOS Catalina download tools. Make your own flash drive or ISO installer.
There is no macOS recovery or installers on this media and it only includes the tools so that anyone can download any more current version of macOS they need directly from Apple. The obvious benefit is that once you understand the process you can just download whatever version of macOS is available and just set it up yourself. No need to purchase other versions or any mulitboot installers. Apple doesn’t sell installers for their systems, but anyone can download the needed components directly from Apple’s server(s). The software works on macOS, Windows or Linux and will download other required resources from the Internet. Can make recovery USB drives for versions prior to Big Sur in Windows and newer versions can only be setup in macOS. Personally I normally just install and setup Hackintosh systems and use virtual environments like Vmware, Qemu and Virtualbox to install other version of macOS that might not use regularly. The other obvious benefit is that the macOS installer can be setup on a flash drive or a ISO can be created to burned to a DVD or the ISO can be using to install macOS in a virtual environment. The only requirements are:An Internet connectionA DVD or USB flash drive large enough to write the copy of macOS to A system running macOS which can be an Apple system, Hackintosh or a virtual version of macOS to do the final construction of macOS installer that is Big Sur or newer. The process isn’t that technical, but it does require a bit more time and resources. I just include digital documentation on the media that documents the entire procedure including setting up a flash drive or making an ISO image.
